1、 Introduction to DLC Certification in the United States
DLC (Design Lights Consort) is a joint organization composed of utility companies and regional performance agencies, which holds a high position in certifying the quality and performance of energy-efficient lighting. The goal of DLC is to promote the popularization of high-quality and energy-efficient lighting design in all commercial lighting fields. The DLC certified product catalog is used by public utility companies to promote high-performance solid-state lighting fixtures that have not yet been covered by the Energy Star standard across the United States.
For non Energy Star lighting products, the DLC certified product catalog is the practical criterion for measuring high-quality, energy-efficient lighting products. For products that currently Energy Star cannot produce, DLC certification can also be done.
2、 DLC certification testing project in the United States
1. LM79 testing
2. ISTMT testing
3. Drive temperature rise test (this only applies to premium versions)
4. TM21 lifespan analysis
3、 Required documents for DLC energy efficiency certification
1. DLC account and password
2. Product specification sheet
3. Lamp bead specification sheet
4. 5-year warranty statement
5. TM-21 Life Estimation Table
6. Test Report (LM79 Report Temperature Rise Report ISTMT IES File)
7. Products applying for DLC certification must provide a safety certificate (ETL or UL recognized by the US federal government)
8. There is an LM80 report, and the cycle will be relatively reduced; No LM80 report, the cycle needs to be tested for 6000 hours
9. For the premium version application, a specification sheet and a lifespan assessment report for the driver power supply are required
4、 North American DLC Certification Process
1. Customer provides application form
2. Sample testing
3. Produce a test report
4. DLC website registration application
5. DLC preliminary review, issue an invoice after passing, and make payment
6. DLC review
7. The website indicates successful listing, which can be checked on the DLC official website
