1、 Introduction to CB Certification
The IECEE-CB system is a global system for mutual recognition of electrical product safety testing results established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Electrical Product Qualification Testing and Certification Organization (IECEE), with the aim of reducing international trade barriers caused by the need to meet certification or approval criteria from different countries. The CB system, based on the IEC safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards for electronic and electrical equipment approved by IECEE, has achieved mutual recognition of testing results for 19 major categories of electrical products, including information electrical equipment, household appliances, and medical electrical equipment.

2、 The Importance of CB Certification
Ensuring global acceptance of product safety testing results for electronic and electrical equipment is the foundation of the CB system. After successfully completing the testing, a CB testing certificate and corresponding CB testing report will be issued to the product. These two documents together form a passport, which allows manufacturers to apply for global certification from any national level certification body participating in the CB system, usually without the need for additional testing. In addition, when applying for CB certification, it is necessary to inform the countries to be considered for inclusion in the report, so that the corresponding national differences can be taken into account during testing.

3、 CB Product Certification Scope
At present, the CB system covers electronic gaming devices, testing equipment, power cables, capacitors and components, lighting, household appliances, protective devices, transformers, office and IT equipment, AV equipment, and medical devices, with a total of 180 products in 14 categories.

fourPrecautions for applying for CB certificate
Regarding the application for CB testing certificate, the following points should be noted:
(1) The application for CB test certificate can be submitted by the applicant to any "issuing/approving" NCB covering the scope of the product.
(2) The applicant can be either a manufacturer or an authorized entity representing the manufacturer.
(3) The application may include one or more factories producing products in one or more countries.
(4) Applicants/manufacturers/factories located in countries without IECEE member organizations are required to pay an additional fee of 150 Swiss francs for each CB test certificate to compensate for the operating costs of the system. This fee will be collected by NCB, which accepts CB test certificate applications, and will be deposited into IECEE's account.
(5) Applicants can request NCB to test products based on national differences in the countries to which they are sold.
2. Manufacturers need to obtain product certification for their target market, which includes the following procedures:
(1) Submit an application to the NCB of the target country;
(2) CB test certificate;
(3) CB test report (which may include national differences);
(4) When requested by the NCB of the target market, provide product samples to them.
The purpose of requesting samples is to confirm that the product is consistent with the original NCB tested product and has covered national differences.
3. National differences
National differences refer to the differences between a country's standards or regulations and corresponding international standards. All differences between countries that have joined the CB system shall be submitted to the IECEE Secretariat and published in the CB Bulletin.
