Introduction to ETL/CETL Certification
ETL is the abbreviation for Electrical Testing Laboratories in the United States, founded by Thomas Edison in 1896. It is an NRTL (National Recognized Laboratory) accredited by OSHA (Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration) in the United States. After more than 100 years, the ETL logo has been widely recognized and accepted by major retailers in North America, and enjoys a high reputation like UL. The North American market has the most advanced and comprehensive product testing standards, and also has high requirements for product testing and certification. Any electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical product bearing the ETL inspection mark indicates that it has been tested and meets relevant industry standards. Chinese electronic and electrical products must overcome these testing and standard constraints in order to seize the US market.
